As an IATSE Signatory Shop, Reel Set Services offers every service and tends to every detail that you need to accomplish your set construction goals with several options tailored specifically to meet the needs of your project.

Industry Standard

The industry standard is the most common approach to studio set construction. With this option, your production would hire Jeff Shewbert as your Construction Coordinator. Jeff would establish the construction department and supervise all operations as needed to complete your project. This traditional system is often the most familiar way for Art Departments and productions to handle their construction needs. This option is best for larger budget film and television projects that require day to day construction support. Productions that use this method will also take advantage of substantial discounts that are unavailable to any other productions on our shop services listed below.

Hybrid

Are you working on a show that has set construction needs but doesn’t really require a full time construction crew? Our hybrid model may be your best bet. With this option, we’re there when you need us and we go away when you don’t. Don’t worry though, we’re still available to you and at your service. We’ll work with you at the beginning of your project to establish a plan that will accomplish your goals while keeping costs down to a minimum. Then, we’ll build your sets or prep your locations when you need us to. Sets are usually built in our mill spaces and delivered to stages or locations saving thousands of dollars in stage rentals or location fees. We handle all of the construction payroll and accounting needs as well which saves time and money for your production. This approach is often the best choice for “Tier” films or small television shows that have sporadic construction needs throughout the run of production but don’t have the budget to hire a full time crew.

A La Carte

Need one giant set built? Or a couple small ones? One location? Maybe a piece of furniture or a sign? If so, A la carte will probably be your best option. Here, we’ll work with you to develop a plan that suits the design needs and budget for one or as many elements that you need for your project. These sets or elements are usually built in our mill spaces and picked up from us or delivered to your stage or location saving you time and money. As with the hybrid option, we’ll handle all of the payroll and accounting needs, again creating big savings for your production. This approach is most common on commercials, music videos, trade shows, or activation projects but can also be used on any type of production whenever a special need arises.
